We only use your data when you choose to provide it to us when attending an event. We will remind you of this in the event registration. We only ask for data that is essential to the smooth running of the event and once the event has finished we then delete all of your data other than any basic information you have permitted us to keep to report the results of the event.

We can make your name anonymous on the website and we can remove your data if you so wish at any time.

Whether you're stressed, depressed or in crisis, we’ll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.

We will push for a better deal and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Projects & Services

Mind in Furness offers a range of 11 projects and services run at our office at the Lesser Kings Hall on Hartington Street as well as throughout the local community and sometimes beyond.

You can find a brief overview of some of our services and projects here, including when the next session is running if there are sessions that you can attend. Click on the service or project if you would like further details including details of all of the sessions that we run and who the main point of contact is. We do occasionally have to cancel sessions and we will tell you below if any sessions are cancelled and, where possible, when the sessions will return.

A new mental health service for primary care.
    Choices Programme

    Choices Programme

    Choices has brought together a number of well respected voluntary and community organisations who want to make a real difference in people's lives. The project is led by Groundworks NE and is aimed at providing support to those furthest away from the labour market and facing multiple barriers.
      Conservation

      Conservation

      Every month we work alongside the National Trust, at High Wray Basecamp. It is a chance to take in the breath taking scenery, whilst doing something worthwhile.

        Supported Living

        Mind in Furness are the landlords of four one bedroom flats, which have recently been refurbished to a high standard. Located in the town centre they will provide accommodation for Clients with mental health problems where staff will offer support to maintain tenancies and promote recovery.
          Craft Group

          Craft Group

          Everyone welcome to join in this well attended craft group, which is suitable for all levels of ability. Examples of activity include card making, glass painting, pebble painting and adult colouring.
          • This service has 1 weekly session and runs on Wednesday at 1:30PM
          Kitchen Garden Project

          Kitchen Garden Project

          If you are interested in gardening, but do not have a garden, or if you want to socialise over a shared interest in gardening you might like to join us at the Green Heart Den and get involved in our exciting outdoor Kitchen Garden Project.
          • This service has 2 weekly sessions and the next session is on Tuesday at 10AM
          Men's Group

          Men's Group

          The Men’s Group is held on Tuesday afternoons and is facilitated by Support Worker Mike. In addition to the regular attendees we have a number of men who have joined the group whenever they wish to.
          • This service has 1 weekly session and runs on Tuesday at 1PM

          Millom Safe Space

          The service provides a safe place where anyone experiencing mental health problems can pop a long for a chat and cuppa. It’s a place where they can talk openly about anything without being judged.
          • This service has 1 weekly session and runs on Monday at 11AM
          Peer Support

          Peer Support

          These fully inclusive sessions provide a safe and confidential environment for those attending to support each other. These sessions are available by arrangement on a daily basis.
          • This service has 5 weekly sessions and the next session is on Tuesday at 10AM
          Recovery Star Programme

          Recovery Star Programme

          We have recently developed a 6 weeks group programme which, using group work and one to one sessions, provides a way to discuss and develop personal action plans.
          • This service has 1 weekly session and runs on Thursday at 1:30PM
          Women's Group

          Women's Group

          A fun group doing activities with arts, craft and poetry as well as offering therapeutic activities where we will discuss confidence building and self-esteem topics, relaxation sessions, going out to local art exhibitions or just meeting for a coffee.
          • This service has 1 weekly session and runs on Wednesday at 10:30AM
